Different feedstocks are abundant in Florida to produce compost.  And each feedstock has a different operation and regulatory process for managing the material.

The solid material removed from wastewater after domestic sewage has been processed at wastewater treatment plants is called biosolids. State of Florida regulations governing the use of biosolids are contained in Chapter 62-640, F.A.C.  It is managed by FL’s Division of Water Management.
